Tests which your doctor may perform can include; a heart rate check, ultrasound to measure blood flow in the penis, measurements for weight and height, a blood pressure test, or a physical examination of the penis itself.
Currently, penile implants are the closest thing to a natural erection that we can do through through treatment. Implants are clearly the winner for overall satisfaction rates with around 95 percent satisfaction (compared to 50 percent for pills, 40 percent for injections, and 20 percent for vacuum devices). *McCabe MP, et al. During an outpatient procedure, the device is implanted entirely in the body and is not visible. The device consists of two cylinders that replace the spongelike tissue in the penis, a pump and a reservoir that is placed in the abdomen. To initiate an erection, the patient squeezes the pump (located in scrotum) to release fluid into the penis. When the erection is no longer needed, squeezing the pump returns the fluid to the reservoir. In addition to this model, there is a non-fluid device that consists of a pair of cylinders with metal coils that can be bent. Disadvantages of the prosthetic devices include that implantation requires a surgical procedure that is not reversible. Keep Up With Us Socially

Feelings of inadequacy or failure may complicate ED symptoms. ED may result in an inability to maintain an erection sometimes, but not every time. Other signs are the ability to get an erection but unable to maintain it to complete sexual relations, or an inability to attain an erection at all.
Erectile dysfunction (ED, or impotence) is a condition that causes men to be unable to acquire or maintain an erection.
If stress, anxiety, or other emotional issues are causing the condition, counseling may help. Some men experience erectile dysfunction because of past experiences that cause a lack of self-esteem, fear, or guilt, and counseling can help you overcome those negative feelings. Couple counseling can also help improve mutual understanding and acceptance in a relationship, allowing you to feel more comfortable during intimacy.
Other research also supports eating more plants. In one study, about one-third of men who cut back on their consumption of cholesterol and saturated fat (both of which are found mainly in animal products) and increased their intake of fiber (found in plants) recovered their normal sexual function.
During the procedure, your urologist will move a wand-like device around different areas of your penis. Urologists at U of U Health use DUOLITH® devices, which emit gentle pulses that trigger increased blood flow. The entire treatment lasts approximately 15 minutes.
Due to the fact that ED and CVD share many of the same risk factors, it is not surprising that there is a high incidence of ED in men who present with CVD. A study by Montorsi et al found that ED was present in roughly 50% of patients with acute chest pain and confirmed CAD on angiography.21
Future treatments for erectile dysfunction focus on providing medications that are more effective, work rapidly, and have fewer, if any, side effects than currently available treatments.
With so many possible causes for ED, your doctor has a number of tests they can use to figure out the best treatment for you.

Your doctor may make suggestions to improve your overall health, including the health of your heart and circulatory system. Increasing your amount of exercise, eating well, and ensuring that you get sufficient vitamins and minerals can help with this overall wellbeing. Another recommendation may be reducing or eliminating your use of drugs, tobacco, or alcohol. Your doctor may also recommend losing weight.
