Levitra (vardenafil) is considered one of the most suitable ED treatment options for diabetics. It typically comes in 10mg and 20mg tablets, with dosage being adjusted according to the effect on the individual. The maximum dosage should be tried eight times before it is deemed not to be an effective treatment. The effects of Levitra are known to last longer than those of Viagra.
Response is dose related and usually occurs within 10–15 min, and does not require stimulation. The intraurethral preparation, medicated urethral suppository for erection (MUSE), consists of a tiny pellet of drug inserted into the urethral meatus. Response is also dose related, and onset similar to the cavernosal preparations.

The extent of the syndrome ranges from complete androgen insensi-tivity and development of normal external (but not internal) female sexual anatomy, to partial insensitivity, with altered or ambiguous male or female genitals, to mild insensitivity, with normal male genitals, enlarged breasts, and possibly impotence. Treatments depend on the extent of the syndrome, and may include hormone therapy, surgery, and psychological counseling. Gene testing and genetic counseling are available for families with affected members. Treatment of Additional Pelvic Injuries Last Updated on Wed, 04 Aug 2021 | Acetabular Fractures
Sometimes, blood flow problems develop because of damage to the endothelium or penile smooth muscle – tissues in the penis that are important for normal erections. This damage may be the result of high blood pressure or smoking. It can also happen if a man has high cholesterol, triglyceride, or blood sugar levels.
“The drugs work well in these patients because once they get their erectile function back, their confidence improves, their performance anxiety gets better, and they get better,” Dr. Walker says.
30-50% of hypertensive men also suffer from ED. Hypertension can disrupt erectile tissue function. In addition, some prescriptions for the condition can cause ED. However, there’s evidence that suggests that once adequate blood pressure control is regained – even for those on medication – ED becomes less likely.
Call your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if your erection is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours. A prolonged erection (priapism) can damage the penis.
It is more likely that you’ll develop ED as you get older, but aging itself does not cause erectile dysfunction. Many factors can cause erectile dysfunction, including those that affect your endocrine, vascular and nervous systems.
If the reason is physical – you’ve injured your penis, had surgery on your bladder or prostate, or suffer from a disease like MS or diabetes – medical treatment is your best option. There are many different Erectile Dysfunction treatments, including medication, penis pumps, LIST therapy, and surgery.
Erectile dysfunction (ED, impotence) is the failure to achieve or maintain an erection. There are many potential underlying causes of erectile dysfunction, including stress and emotional problems, brain dysfunction, problems with blood supply to the penis, and structural problems with the penis.
GAINSWave™ is a new ED treatment that utilizes pulsed acoustic waves, known in Europe as shockwave therapy, to address the cause of poor sexual performance in men – decreased and insufficient blood flow.
Since shockwave therapy is a fairly new ED treatment that is not covered by insurance plans, your urologist may recommend other ED treatment options first. A shockwave therapy regimen typically includes six separate treatments, but treatment protocols could change as more research becomes available. The out-of-pocket cost for each treatment is between $400 and $500. Your urologist will discuss these costs and other options with you before deciding the best course for treatment. Candidates for Shockwave Therapy not responding to medications adequately, not interested in taking medications, or interested in trying regenerative therapy to reverse some of the causes of ED.
